N° 58 | Green Friday

Every year Black Friday brings chaos and excessive consumption. However, in recent years, a growing movement is emerging that aims to redirect this harmful trend towards a more sustainable and environmentally friendly approach.

Green Friday was born in 2015 as a response to Black Friday, with the aim of raising awareness about the negative consequences of society's shopping habits. The invitation is to adopt more ethical and conscious shopping, focusing on sustainable and ethical local brands, or even better, avoiding unnecessary purchases. The goal is to turn the act of shopping into a statement of environmental and social responsibility.

In addition to reducing over-consumption, we believe it is essential to promote awareness of green alternatives to excessive and harmful shopping: at a time like this, it is important to highlight those virtuous brands that are committed to creating trendy and, above all, environmentally friendly products.

To do our part today, we would like to share with you a principle that has always been a source of inspiration for our work and that we believe can really make a difference and guide us towards a healthier and more sustainable relationship with the world of fashion: the rule of the three R's:

1) Fruit bag: our symbol of Regeneration.

Regeneration is the first alternative we suggest for a Green Friday that truly looks to the future and goes beyond the desires of the moment.
The regeneration process involves the reuse of scraps and waste, without destroying them, to give life to products that have a higher value. A concrete example of this are our Fruit bags, which embody this philosophy perfectly: the regenerated leather with which they are produced is made entirely of natural and regenerative raw materials, meaning real leather waste tanned with vegetable substances, natural latex, water, natural fats, natural colouring agents and salts. The regeneration process favours the conservation of resources and the reduction of waste, promoting the use of the circular economy.

2) Re-flag: an elegant way to Recycle.

To recycle means to convert waste into a new object or material of the same value. For us, recycling is synonymous with uniqueness and beauty. From this philosophy comes the Re-flag collection made from felt obtained by recycling and regenerating plastic bottles. If you think that each kg of fabric corresponds to 30 1.5 litre bottles, you can say that wearing these bags literally means wearing change. Some of the main benefits of recycling are reducing the amount of waste going to landfills and incinerators, preventing pollution by reducing the collection of raw materials and saving significant amounts of energy.

3) Regenerate your jeans: Re-use through creative upcycling.

Upcycling makes it possible to valorise material that would otherwise be destined for destruction or disposal with a sustainable, circular approach that, combined with creativity, gives rise to new products of higher value than the originals.
Reusing your old jeans by giving them a new shape is a simple and special way to fight waste. Our project Regenerate your jeans allows you to choose from ten different models of bags in which to bring back to life your pair of jeans abandoned at the bottom of the wardrobe. Supporting this project means choosing ethical, sustainable and entirely made in Italy manufacturing.

Now it is up to you to choose the R that best suits your style and turn this Black Friday into a day of change and love for the environment.
