N. 11 | zoom on 9 and 11 SDGs

The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development is an action plan which contains 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for people, for the planet and prosperity, signed in 2015 by 193 Countries.

Circular economy is certainly an integrant part of SDGs. In particular there are some Goals that are directly related to it. Let’s introduce the first two.

Goal n.9: “Build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

The ninth Goal could be translated as the sustainable reconfiguration of industries. Reconfiguring the industries sector in a sustainable way means mainly increasing the efficiency in the use of resources by promoting the use of technologies with a low environmental impact. it’s about something that go beyond the implementation of sustainable business model because it requires an exchange of competences and knowledges reached in the field of clean and environmentally-friendly technologies and industrial processes which are necessary in order to make industries and infrastructures sustainable.

Also the Goal in.11 involves circular economy. According to it Countries should “Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable”

The subject of the 11th Goal is the global urbanisation. This objective aim at reducing the negative effects of the environmental impact produced by the cities, especially in terms of air quality and waste management. It, for example, includes an increase of green spaces, the development of a sustainable mobility and the achievement of an energetic efficiency. Waste management means instead collection, transportation, and disposal of garbage, sewage and other waste products and It is about how garbage can be used as a valuable resource.

Well, 20 Agenda is a fair challenge, a promise from the world for the world!
