The agenda of politicians chases and sometimes stimulates the moods of citizens in an attempt to garner their vote. We know that there are issues that need - to be addressed and managed - organised thinking about the future.
Tackling crisis in a serious manner needs a long view, a thought that goes beyond the latest issue picked up and described in the newspapers and gone viral on social media. It needs a systemic thought of change, otherwise we risk falling into the ideological or grotesque (and we have heard a lot lately). In the past, one would have spoken of a 'statesmanlike' decision. The transition requires a rethinking of econonomic models in a logic of the circulareconomy, the PNRR may provide perhaps the last opportunity to push forcefully towards the redesign of the economic system.
Together with many others, "we strongly urge political parties, through this petition, to consider the fight against crisis as the necessary basis to achieve equal and sustainable development in the years to come; this fact of reality is now indispensable if they really want to propose their own future vision of society with a chance of success."
Half-measures and words alone are no longer an option.
